Australian rainforest illustrated card
This illustrated greeting card features a delicate skeleton leaf inspired by a quiet moment in the rainforest of Babinda, Far North Queensland.
While exploring waterfalls and moss-covered creek beds, I discovered the leaf resting gently on a rock and later transformed the image into a detailed drawing in our Cairns studio. The design reflects the intricate beauty and quiet intelligence found throughout the rainforest.
The front of the card features the words by Robin Wall Kimmerer:
“In some native languages the term for plants translates to those who take care of us.”
Originally created as a hand screen printed linen tea towel design, this artwork is now part of our recycled greeting card collection.
